CLUBHOUSE RIDE, JAYCITO RETURN TO THE WORK TAB

Clubhouse Ride, who looked like one of the most promising contenders for the 2011 Triple Crown after finishing second in the Sham Stakes (gr. III), returned to the work tab for the first time since January 26th when he breezed three furlongs at Santa Anita on November 30th in :36.60.

A son of Candy Ride out of the Seeking the Gold mare Seeking Results, Clubhouse Ride had a strong juvenile season in which he earned nearly $300,000. In addition to winning the Barretts Juvenile Stakes, he finished third in the CashCall Futurity (gr. I), Delta Jackpot Stakes (gr. III), and Jack Goodman Stakes. Trained by Craig Lewis, the colt will be a four-year-old in 2012 and looks like an exciting prospect for the handicap division.

Another intriguing return to the work tab is Jaycito, winner of the 2010 Norfolk Stakes (gr. I). Various injuries and setbacks have kept his 2011 season to only two starts; a second-place finish in the San Felipe Stakes (gr. II) in March and a fifth in an allowance optional claiming event in August. He had a breathing problem corrected after his last race and has worked five times since then, most recently breezing five furlongs in :59.60 at Hollywood Park on December 4th. A return to the races should be coming shortly.
