2013 Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Palace Malice, a two-time finalist in the Eclipse awards, posted his first workout of the year on the morning of January 21st, breezing three furlongs in :36 4/5 at Aiken in South Carolina.
The son of Curlin won the first four starts of his 2014 campaign, including the prestigious Metropolitan Handicap (gr. I), before emerging from a sixth-place finish in the Whitney Invitational (gr. I) with a bone bruise that initially led to his retirement. However, Palace Malice recovered well during the ensuing months and was put back into training for a 2015 campaign, with his workout this morning being the first official breeze of his comeback.
A video of the workout can be viewed on Bloodhorse.com.
