Casiguapo returns in Gulfstream allowance race

Casiguapo, who ran second in both the Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) and Delta Downs Jackpot Stakes (gr. III) last year, will make his three-year-old debut in a six-furlong allowance race on Sunday at Gulfstream Park.

Trained by Mario Morales and owned by All American Horses, Casiguapo has recorded three workouts in preparation for his return, including a bullet 1:01 2/5 breeze from the gate on January 25th at Calder Race Course. A son of Sightseeing out of the Buddha mare Emerald Buddha, Casiguapo will face eight rivals in his return to the races, including morning line favorite Manhattan Johnnie, who broke his maiden sprinting six furlongs last fall at Belmont Park before running tenth in the November 3rd Nashua Stakes (gr. III) behind Cairo Prince.

Casiguapo will be ridden by Edgard Zayas and will start from post position one.
