As promised, here are my picks for the Acorn Stakes (gr. I) this afternoon at Belmont Park, as well as J.R.'s:

I'm confident that even though Turbulent Descent may be at her very best at seven furlongs, a one-turn mile is easily within her range. I believe that she will dominate here, with Her Smile rallying for second over a tiring It's Tricky.

J.R. does not believe that It's Tricky will tire. In fact, he is picking her to win. He feels that Turbulent Descent will have insufficient pace to chase, and that she will make a bold, sweeping run to reach contention before flattening out.
