BLIND LUCK WINS THE VANITY!

Blind Luck rallied furiously in the stretch to win the historica $250,000 Vanity Handicap (gr. I) by a half-length at Hollywood Park this afternoon.

Under Garrett Gomez, Blind Luck sat reserved off of a very slow early pace set by American Story. She's Cheeky raced in second, followed by Miss Match in third. The three favorites, Switch, St. Trinians, and Blind Luck, trailed the field.

Turning for home She's Cheeky stuck her head in front of American Story and kicked for home. But Miss Match was moving up strongly into contention and briefly appeared to be on her way to victory, for the three favorites still trailed the field. But suddenly, Blind Luck and Switch turned on the afterburners and simply flew home through the final eighth of a mile to run 1-2 in very impressive performances.

Miss Match held off St. Trinians for third, while She's Cheeky and American Story trailed the field. The final time was 1:50.89.
