With the main track labeled sloppy and favoring speed, here are a few changes to my opinions on some of the Belmont starters:
* Shackleford is going to have every chance at winning. He is bred to love the slop, has the speed to go to the lead, and may prove simply impossible to catch.
* Brilliant Speed is also bred to handle the slop, and should relish the conditions of the race, but will the speed bias hurt this closer's chances?
Animal Kingdom is still the favorite at 5-2, with Nehro 9-2 and Master of Hounds 4-1. Mucho Macho Man is 7-1; Shackleford 8-1.
