Trubs made a tremendous run on the turn and outfought Divine Music to win the Black Gold Stakes at Fair Grounds by a head.
Ridden by J. Campbell, Trubs sat just off of the early pace set by Changing the Rules and Hydro Power. Divine Music was along the rail in third.
Around the far turn Trubs made a bold run to take the lead, but Divine Music snuck through along the rail and was very game. The pair dueld all the way down the stretch, with Trubs ever so narrowly holding off his courageous rival. The final time was 1:11.18.
It was a long way back to Changingtherules, who ran third. Inhisglory finished fourth. The winner is trained by Al Stall.
