Awesome Feather, who went undefeated in six starts this year, was declared the Eclipse Champion 2yo filly at the Eclipse awards ceremony tonight.
Awesome Feather swept to victories in four Florida stakes races at Calder before shipping to Churchill Downs for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I). Sent off as the narrow favorite, she put away R Heat Lightning to win not only the Breeders' Cup, but the Eclipse award.
Turbulent Descent and More Than Real were the only other fillies to recieve votes.
