As expected, Zenyatta was awarded with her third consecutive Eclipse award as Champion Older Female, receiving all but one of the votes.
Zenyatta had a magnificent year, during which she brought her incredible winning streak to nineteen races and established herself as possibly the greatest racesmares ever to grace the American turf. She won five grade I races in 2010 and nearly a sixth, falling just a head short of catching Blame in the Breeders' Cup Classic in her final start.
She added her name to a short list of horses to have won three consecutive Eclipse awards.
