Indian Winter, benefiting from a fast pace, rally strongly in the stretch at Santa Anita Park to win the $75,000 San Pedro Stakes by a half-length.
The early pace was set by City Cool and Arcadian, who blazed through an opening quarter in under :22 seconds and a half-mile in :43 4/5. Sinai and Indian Winter were not far behind.
Into the homestretch it was a very tight field, with City Cool staying on well. It looked as though he was going to win in a wire-to-wire performance, but Indian Winter came running under Martin Pedroza to win the race.
City Cool finished second, followed by Sinai and Mr Artistic M D.
