Uncle Mo, whose brilliant victories in the Champagne Stakes (gr. I) and Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) established himself as one of the best juveniles in recent years, was awarded the Eclipse award for Champion 2yo Male tonight at the Eclipse awards ceremony.
Owned by Repole Stables and trained by Todd Pletcher, Uncle Mo's brilliance was noticed by many when he broke his maiden at Saratoga by over fourteen lengths. In the Champagne Stakes, he ran a mile in 1:34 2/5, which equals the second fastest timing in the long history of the race. In the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, he turned back a classy horse in Boys at Tosconova to win by slightly more than four lengths.
Boys at Tosconova and Pluck were the only other colts to recieve votes.
