BLAME: CHAMPION OLDER MALE

Was there any doubt?

Blame did just about every asked of him in 2010. He won the Stephen Foster Handicap (gr. I), the Whitney Handicap (gr. I) against Quality Road. And in his final start, he held off the incredible charge of Zenyatta to win the Breeders' Cup Classic.

In recognition of his accomplishment, Blame received all 238 votes for Champion Older male.

He showed grit, strength, and determination all year, running with the best and winning nearly every time. His lone loss came against Haynesfield in the Jockey Club Gold Cup, a horse that he later beat in the Classic. He will retire with at least one Eclipse award on his resume, and possibly a second, if he wins Horse of the Year later tonight.
