Lil Bit O'fun pulled off an astonishing upset in the seventh race at Tampa Bay Downs this afternoon, kicking away in deep stretch to defeat a classy field which included Pluck.
Ridden by Leandro Goncalves, the chestnut gelding rated not too far off of the early pace set by 99-1 shot Marco's Fling. Pluck wasn't far behind either, sitting in fifth behind a slow pace.
Turning for home, it was still Marco's Fling holding on to the lead, but Lil Bit O'fun was mustering his charge. Pluck was going nowhere fast, closing slowly but not nearly fast enough. At the wire it was Lil Bit O'fun on top, with Marco's Bling holding second over Tag V Eye. Pluck finished fourth.
The final time was 1:38.22.
