Turbulent Descent and Zazu put on another show in the grade I Santa Anita Oaks at Santa Anita Park this afternoon, with Turbulent Descent proving a neck better than her rival in the mile and a sixteenth event.
Ridden by David Flores, Turbulent Descent sat fourth in the early going, a few lengths behind leaders May Day Rose, A Z Warrior, and and Kilograeme. She made a bit on the far turn and got the jump on Zazu, taking a decisive lead into the homestretch. Zazu closed fast, but not fast enough, falling just a neck short at the wire. The final time was 1:41.05.
A Z Warrior finished third, followed by Kilograeme and May Day Rose.
