UNCLE MO WINS THE TIMELY WRITER!

Uncle Mo showed no signs of rust in Gulfstream's Timely Writer Stakes, drawing away with ease to win the $100,000 Timely Writer Stakes by 4 1/2 lengths.

Ridden by John Velazquez, Uncle Mo was bumped by Gallant Dreams at the start but was quickly sent to the lead. He ran his opening quarter mile in :25 1/5 while leading by a length. Rattlesnake Bridge was sitting in second, followed by Gallant Dreams, Schoolyard Cat, and Rocking Out.

On the far turn, Rattlesnake Bridge made a run at the heavy favorite but Uncle Mo turned him back with ease in the stretch, drawing away while Velazquez looked over both shoulders. He hit the wire easily if front, John Velazquez never urging him on.

Rattlensnake Bridge finished second, followed by Gallant Dreams, Rocking Out, and Schoolyard Cat. The final time was 1:36.56.
