A THREE-YEAR-OLD TO WATCH: ADIRONDACK EXPRESS

Adirondack Express stamped himself as a three-year-old to watch when he caught Self in the final hundred yards to win a one-mile and forty yards maiden special weight at Tampa Bay Downs.

Ridden by Ramon Dominguez, Adirondack Express sat about mid-pack early on while racing along the rail. He stayed in this spot until the homestretch, when Dominguez angled him to the far outside to make his run. However, Self had made a strong wide bid on the far turn to open up a decisive lead in the homestretch. It looked like Adirondack Express would be unable to close in time, but under strong urging from Dominguez, he rallied strongly to win by a length.

The final time was 1:41.34.
