BROADWAY'S ALIBI WINS THE COMELY STAKES!

Broadway's Alibi brought her winning streak to four straight races when she turned back numerous challenges to win the $250,000 Comely Stakes (gr. III) at Aqueduct by about four lengths.

Ridden to victory by Javier Castellano, Broadway's Alibi got off to a quick start and went straight to the lead, setting fractions of :23.73 and :47.25 while being tracked by Singlet. Millionreasonswhy was right behind them in third toward the rail, followed closely by Welcome Guest. Nuffsaid Nuffsaid and Bourbonstreetgirl were the early trailers.

As the field made their way around the far turn, Singlet began to increase the pressure on Broadway's Alibi, and Welcome Guest was also beginning to advance on the far outside. Millionreasonswhy was trapped along the rail waiting for racing room.

Turning for home, Castellano asked Broadway's Alibi for run and his mount responded, turning back a strong rail bid from Millionreasonswhy. Welcome Guest rallied late for second, but was never a threat to the winner, who drew off late to win the one-mile race in 1:36.53.

Millionreasonswhy held on to third over Singlet. The winner is trained by Todd Pletcher and owned by E. Paul Robsham Stables.
