Beldame Stakes Entries: Royal Delta, It's Tricky set for rematch

Royal Delta and It's Tricky, who finished second and third in last month's Personal Ensign Handicap (gr. I) at Saratoga, are set for a rematch in the $600,000 Beldame Invitational Stakes (gr. I) on Saturday at Belmont Park.

The two fillies have met on four occasions in the past, with Royal Delta holding a 3-1 edge over her rival, which includes a victory in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic (gr. I). But over the Beldame's distance of nine furlongs, and traversing only a single turn, it is very possible that It's Tricky could turn the tables on her rival come Saturday.

Disposablepleasure, a three-year-old filly making her debut against older mares, looms a strong contender for trainer Todd Pletcher. Earlier this year, the filly was beaten just three-quarters of a length in the Mother Goose Stakes (gr. I) here at Belmont Park, demonstrating her both her talent and her affinity for the Belmont main track.

Cash for Clunkers, narrowly beaten by It's Tricky in the Ogden Phipps Handicap (gr. I) back in May, should also be in contention for a top-three finish.
