HOOH WHY WINS THE FLORIDA SUNSHINE MILLIONS FILLY AND MARE TURF!

Hooh Why pulled off a surprising 17-1 upset in the $150,000 Florida Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf, rallying from off the pace to win by 1 1/2 lengths as the second longest shot in the field.

Under an excellent ride from John Velazquez -- who was riding his second winner on the card -- Hooh Why settled into fourth early on as Speak Easy Gal and Romacaca set the pace. Unbridled Humor was sitting back in third, getting a perfect trip as the front-runners set a good pace of :23.42 and :47.65.

The pace began to pick up around the far turn as Speak Easy Gal and Romacaca continued to show the way through three-quarters of a mile in 1:11.41. They pair entered the homestretch together with Unbridled Humor right behind them looming a serious threat. But Hooh Why was moving even stronger on the far outside, and passed the three leaders in deep stretch to win going away in excellent fashion.

The final time was a quick 1:46.77. Romacaca finished second in a photo finish over Speak Easy Gal, while Unbridled Humor completed the superfecta.
