King and Crusader, sent off as the fourth-choice in a field of six, proved best in Aqueduct's six-furlong Jimmy Winkfield Stakes under jockey Cornelio Velasquez.
Trained by Rick Dutrow, Jr., King and Crusader settled off of the early pace set by Yo Koffy, who rattled off fractions of :22.48 and :45.42 while being tracked by Deliburnsky. Those two continued to lead into the homestretch, but King and Crusader was in the process of making a three-wide bid that carried him to a clear lead in the stretch. Fellow Dutrow-trainee Reserved Quality closed strongly, but fell three-quarters of a length short of catching his stablemate.
King and Crusader stopped the clock for six furlongs in 1:11.72. Deliburnsky finished third, followed by Yo Koffy, Done Done Done, and He Can Run.
