MIDNIGHT TRANSFER WINS THE SAN PEDRO!

Midnight Transfer rallied furiously inside the final sixteenth of a mile to win the $75,000 San Pedro Stakes at Santa Anita Park by a desperate nose.

Ridden to victory by Joel Rosario, the colt settled into the third position early on down along the rail as Got Even set a blazing pace on the far outside. Passing Game was in second, with Let's Get Crackin up close in fourth, followed by Coach Sickie and Drill. Four lengths seperated the field heading down the backstretch.

Through fractions of :21.92 and :44 flat, Got Even continued to lead. Passing Game dropped back rounding the turn, but Drill was putting in a strong run on the far outside, passing four horses to confront Got Even for the lead. However, as the field entered the homestretch, Got Even turned back Drill's bid and briefly kicked clear. However, Midnight Transfer had been guided to the outside by Rosario and was coming on strongly. The pair hit the wire together, with Midnight Transfer narrowly in front to complete the 6-1/2 furlong event in 1:14.25.

Let's Get Crackin finished third, followed by Coach Sickie.
